mOb studiO is an interdisciplinary, experimental lab consisting of three departments within VCUarts: graphic design, fashion design, and interior design. In partnership with Richmond’s nonprofit Storefront for Community Design, the studiO explores design’s potential to shape a healthier city and encourage citizens to participate more fully in their environment, their government, and their culture.

First Fridays is a signature event in the city’s Arts District. The long-standing monthly art walk happens year-round on the first Friday of every month where galleries, restaurants, nonprofits, and more open their doors in celebration of art and community.
