I am all about space: the expanding and collapsing of space, 2D and 3D, virtual and physical. Mixed, augmented, virtual—the fact that we call these “realities” suggest the multifacetedness of the real. I often imagine, if I step into the work, how would it look like on the other side of the flat surface? The page, the screen, the mirror sheet, etc. becomes a kind of ‘portal’ opening to a different world where all elements have x, y, and z property—akin to the surface of a lake with crystal clear water, one could see straight to the bottom.
